As the Chief Radio Attendant in the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources since August 2015, I have played a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication between vessels, coast guards, and other maritime personnel. My key responsibilities include managing and maintaining radio communication equipment, monitoring distress signals, coordinating search and rescue operations, and providing assistance during emergencies at sea.
I have also been responsible for training new radio attendants on proper communication protocols and procedures, conducting regular radio checks to ensure operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulations set forth by the International Maritime Organization.
Additionally, I have played a key role in implementing new communication technologies to enhance efficiency and safety in maritime operations. My experience in this role has allowed me to develop strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
