Job Description

The job purpose of this role is to manage the delivery of end-to-end Retail amp; Commercial capital Investment projects for Vivo Energy in Namibia.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To identify all stakeholder, their individual roles/inputs/responsibilities to the project are analyzed and notified/assigned.
  • Performing a risk assessment to identify the different risks, their impact to the project and putting in place controls to eliminate/mitigate their impact.
  • To draw up and produce a project plan for the different phases of the project from the pre-construction, construction and post construction phase.
  • To ensure that all the necessary municipal and regulatory approvals are obtained for the project.
  • Track and manage the execution of tasks including conducting site review meetings as well as engaging the various stakeholders to action their assigned required tasks.
  • To manage the project budget and ensure that project spending is maintained within the approved budget and obtain approvals for any variation before proceeding.
  • Monitor, Assess and Report Project Status to the business on a weekly basis during a project meeting.
  • To ensure the project plan and control log are kept updated throughout the project.
  • To raise any project change request and indicate any impact on project delivery timelines of such a change.
  • To update the project management software on a weekly basis and to produce a project status report to the MD for monthly EVP updated.
  • Manage project documentation including the updating of project folder and maintain an auditable record.
  • Assess business readiness, arrange and conduct pre-commissioning meetings and provide written feedback from such meetings including tracking action arising from the meetings.
  • Manage the project closure process.

Requirements

  • Must possess a degree in Project management or Engineering preferably in Civil from
  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience in engineering environment preferably in downstream oil business.
  • Should have Project management skills, negotiating skills, interpersonal skills, product knowledge (Main Fuels), contract management skills, and good communication skills through his/her innovativeness.
  • Expertise in key Functional areas to be at a sufficiently high level to provide long-term direction and to support the day-to-day project management support to the business.
